Feedback is a software package that has been the subject of continual development since the mid 1980’s.

It provides a comprehensive catering managements system, maintaining a database of ingredients, recipes, suppliers and locations.

Recipes can themselves be made from other recipes, for instance a standard sauce recipe can be included in other recipes as a sub-recipe.

Planning facilities allow for the production of fully costed ingredient requirements based on recipes requirements.

It provides a full stock control system recording all goods received from suppliers, and internal movements between locations. The costs of all ingredients are constantly updated to the latest cost. Full stock taking facilities are provided, including stock counting on a hand held pocket computer.

Stock can be recorded both as individual items and as multiples in packages, and each individual item can then have a different unit for use in recipes. For instance tinned items can be received by the case, counted by individual tins, but used by the content weight of each tin.

The software has full conversion between compatible units of measure allowing for the use of both imperial and metric units.

Stock take results can be compared to the theoretical ingredient use from recipe production so that recipe costs can be validated, thus providing a powerful tool for identifying variances in consumption, be they wastage, spoilage, poor portioning or pilferage.

A full audit trail of all stock movements is maintained. This can be used for subsequent cost analysis. A total cost can be produced for an establishment for a period, and this can be broken down into individual locations, and further broken down into the cost of individual ingredients or groups of ingredients.
